A brief history

Little Hill Church was formed in the early 1970s by Bethel Evangelical Free Church nearby in Wigston. They had the vision for a church to be built on this new housing estate. They were keen to see an independent evangelical church established at the centre of the community.

In 1972 Bethel Evangelical Free Church called an associate pastor, who took sole responsibility for Little Hill Church.  Initially the church met in the British Legion building and homes on the estate. As God prospered the work, a building was commenced and completed by volunteers.

The church was constituted under the leadership of elders and deacons who are also trustees.

Many more activities - related to the church's core aims of worship, fellowship, and evangelism - were established, because of the facilities being available.

Although completely independent, Little Hill Church works with many other local evangelical churches across a range of services and events throughout the year.

In 2022 we celebrated our 50th anniversary. Please contact us if you would like a copy of the anniversary booklet (or Click Here), which contains more of the church's history and the people who have been part of it over the years.
