Ladies' Bible Study
Tuesdays 10.00 - 11.30am (term-time only).
Programme for this term (Click Here)
We enjoy an informal time, to study and apply the Bible, to pray, to have fellowship, and to encourage and support each other. Our aim is to discover and share what the Scriptures teach, and the working out of these teachings in our daily walk with God.
Our typical format is:
-
an opening half-hour of fellowship and catching up over a cup of tea or coffee,
-
a Bible study, led by one of the team, but interactive and with questions encouraged,
-
singing a hymn or song,
-
a time of open praise and thanksgiving, and prayer for each other, the work of the church, and local and worldwide needs.
At other times, we enjoy hearing a guest speaker sharing about Christian work elsewhere (including Friends International, Open Hands, and Good News for Everyone), or a historical talk about the way God has worked through Christians in the past.
Sometimes the meeting will be more devotional, encouraging each other with the sharing of a Scripture passage, poem, hymn, or testimony, which has been personally significant.
We aim for a relaxed and open atmosphere; there is no pressure to contribute, but we find most people will do so in some way.
